Terms and Conditions

Acceptance of Booking:
A booking is considered as accepted, and a contract made with Transcotland Ltd, upon receipt by the company of a completed booking form together with prepayment of 100 per person listed on the booking form. Once we have commenced the booking procedure, clients wishing to make changes to their requested itinerary or number/type of rooms required may be subject to a re-booking fee to reflect any extra costs involved.

Cancellations:
We reserve the right to charge the full amount for the holiday if it is cancelled within 28 days of your arrival date. If a holiday is cancelled before 28 days of your arrival date we reserve the right to retain the deposit(s) to cover for our time and costs incurred. We reserve the right to alter itineraries due to weather conditions or any other such extenuating circumstances.

Insurance:
All members of your group must have their own holiday insurance (your local travel agent or insurance company can arrange this), to cover the eventuality of a forced cancellation in the event of illness, accident, personal crisis, weather, loss of personal effects etc.. Since there is no reciprocal health-care arrangement between the UK and countries outside the European Union, you should ensure that your health insurance covers you for travel in the United Kingdom.

Liability:
We will endeavour to arrange your holiday as planned but reserve the right to alter itineraries or accommodation should this become necessary for logistical reasons. Transcotland Ltd acts only as an agent for service and accommodation providers and will assume no responsibility or liability for losses due to acts or omissions by third parties; independent contractors, their employees or representatives, nor liabilities or losses due to strikes, war, force majeure, Acts of God, etc. Transcotland Ltd. cannot and will not accept responsibility for any losses, delays or additional costs due to adverse weather, road traffic conditions, industrial disputes or Acts of God. The company will not accept or have any liability for the acts of omissions whether negligent or otherwise, of accommodation providers or any other persons providing services in connection with the arrangements of the group/individual(s). The company will take reasonable care of clients' luggage but limits its liability to a maximum claim, or aggregate of claims, of 250 per client for damage to, or theft or loss of clients' luggage. Suitable insurance is easily available and clients are strongly advised to obtain this prior to travel.

Complaints procedure:
In the unlikely event that a client wishes to raise any query or complaint, any problem should be addressed in the first instance to the accommodation/service. If the issue is not resolved, clients should contact Transcotland Ltd. immediately by telephone. Transcotland Ltd. will act as mediator in any dispute between clients and the service providers. If a problem is not resolved during the clients holiday, complaints must be addressed in writing to Transcotland Ltd. within one month from the last day of the holiday provided by the company.

Client conduct:
It is requested that all clients conduct themselves in a responsible manner at all times during their holiday and follow the Countryside and Mountain Codes Clients found to be responsible for misconduct on any holiday organised by Transcotland Ltd. will be required to indemnify the affected person(s) for all losses and/or damage.
